Quick Summer Wrap Up

I haven't blogged in awhile because we were away at a cottage for a month. I know, the life of a beach bum is rough. We were close to my hometown so we got to see lots of family which was really, really good.

The kids made good use of Lake Erie and spent the afternoons gathering seashells, building in the sand, swimming, doing puzzles, learning how to do sommersaults on the livingroom floor, watching for large freighters and checking out the thousands of bugs that call the lake home. We had such a great time. Unfortunately, it rained quite a bit so some days we were suffering from a bit of cabin fever. Of course the day I had to back up the van, the heavens opened up and it poured. We're not talking about a little rain, I mean absolutely soaked to the bone pouring with lots of lightening and thunder. Murphy's Law follows me no matter where I go.

Now we're getting in gear for the school. Superman is really excited to go back. Of course with excitement comes anxiety and the past few days have been tough. He hasn't been sleeping well (goes down fine, wakes up to start the day before 5am) and his tolerance is a little low. But I love how happy he is to go back to his school. Such a huge difference from his previous schools. Although I'm a little worried for all the boys because they have a new teacher plus two new support people. So far, the only support I know that is returning is Superman's one to one. Thank goodness she's back! It's going to be a quite an adjustment for everyone.

Superman is excited about his new clothes. As he says "I'll be stylin this year". Ha! Stylin? Where did he pick THAT up from? I bought him his first jean jacket and that is by far his favourite item. He has his backpack from camp all set to go so we're ready! Think good thoughts for us!!
